Key Shop

The Key Shop is located in Smith Hall, Room 239. One Senior Locksmith staffs the Key Shop operation. To schedule repairs to locks and/or changing of cylinders or door closures, please contact Jimmy Rivera at extension 1818 or Lawrence Pressley on extension 5284.

Procedures to obtain a key(s):

1	Obtain a key card application form from the Department of Public Safety, located at 200 University Avenue.
2	Bring the completed key card with a non-refundable key cutting fee of $5.00 per key, cash or internal purchase order, back to Public Safety.
3	When the fee is paid, the Public Safety receptionist will stamp the key card, confirming that payment was made, and transfer the key card to the Key Shop where the key(s) will be made.
4	The key(s) made will be tested and delivered by Public Safety directly to the appropriate department head or building administrator, who signed the key card. The department head or building administrator will sign and date the key card and then distribute the keys.

Note: Keys will be made and delivered within 5 business days of submission to Public Safety.

• The Department of Public Safety Key Shop is responsible for all keying of doors, rekeying of door cylinders, repairing and replacing of locks, door closures, flush bolts, slide bolts, crash bars (hardware and trim), door knobs, pull handles, door guards, and Detex door alarms. Contact Lawrence Pressley  (ext. 5284) or Jimmy Rivera (ext. 1818) with any problems or concerns with any of the above.


• Physical Plant has been and will continue to be responsible for hinges, frames, all carpentry work of both wood and metal doors, mullions, vents, saddles, kick plates, hanging of all new doors, and replacement of all broken doors.
